EAT, PRAY, LOVE

20 February 2013
I went to go see my GP and I booked my hospital bed at MediClinic Louis Leipoldt. I got my pregnancy journal from the hospital. I decided on my permanent Gynecologist. Dr Snoek LOL I found it too funny. He is the only Gynecologist near the hospital that is on the Key Care Network. I get to visit the labour ward Saturday at 11am. I got a whole lot of information brochures. I phoned my medical aid. As soon as I meet Dr Snoek then I can get my ICD code and my authorization nr.

Mediclinic Louis Leipoldt is one of the oldest and best-known private hospitals in the Western Cape.  The hospital offers a magnificent panoramic view of Cape Town's Table Mountain and is conveniently situated within easy reach of major arterial traffic routes, Cape Town International airport, Cape Town city centre and other large, commercial centres. General visiting hours: 15:00 - 16:00, 19:00 - 20:00.

I found a new forum where there are South African moms like me but it doesn't beat BabyCentre.

Where do I start with explaining my weekend? How do I vent in the kindest possible way? I always had everything in my life under control and always saw myself  reaching huge success. Looing back now where did it all just disappear? I am 24 and I feel 80. Can it be that relationships damage a person this badly? Growing up people always told me what a beautiful girl I am and even in my teenage years there was never a lack of interest and people telling me how pretty and intelligent I am. What made me start becoming ugly? What made me start thinking that I wasn't worth anything? Had I been told too many times that I wasn't worth anything or not beautiful by the handful of people that was in  my life by mistake? You always see on TV how people look back on their life and photos and the drama gets intense but here I am a typical South African 24 year old and I wonder where did I waste my beautiful years. Why is it that I have all these bad voices telling me that I am not good enough?  Life is about choices - why did I choose to have these people in my life? This blog post is very personal and it is a post I wouldn't have written if I didn't feel the way I did. Like I have written in previous posts, I am a 24 year old single mother most of the time. I have a 3 year old son and I am currently pregnant. Like most relationships mine is off and on again. For the most part I go through my days being told I am not good enough, I think stupid or that I am not loved. To most people it seems like something that wouldn't affect them but to people that can relate they will know how it feels. When you are in a relationship you go through ups n downs but your partner should never be that up and down that runs through your head. One minute he loves you and the next you get told that he doesn't and that he doesn't want you around. When you pack your stuff to leave then you get stopped but if you just take yourself then you are allowed to go. What happened to having a normal life? The one where you stay in your small house so you can make ends meet, you look after your kids and greet your loving partner by the doo when he comes from work. When you are 24, unemployed and pregnant. Where do you go to? How do you start your life over. Yes, family is reluctant but willing to help but the help is offered with a catch phrase. For example, "you can live here BUT it will financially ruin us". How do you move to your parents after they said that? My family was quick to take my furniture to my new "residence" in their tiny car but they aren't willing to help me get it back. Somehow everything has gone sour and causes unhappiness. Love is the one thing that makes a person stay with someone no matter how they hurt your feelings but when is it time to turn your back? Is it fair for someone to tell you all these hurtful things? If you don' want to be in a relationship then rather break up than to hurt the other person. My parents have always been very interfering, God bless them for helping me when I needed it whether they did it out of love or obligation but the way they try to run my life and treat me like a child. Here I am, I am trying to sort out my life or the situation I am in to the best of my ability  The last thing I need now is their resentment or negative behavior. I can't let my son see how bad a man treats me because he will grow up thinking its okay to treat women that way. I am so incredibly hurt.
